I'm here in Ireland, visiting Jack and her family. Uncle Max is...much as I expected Americans to be. Large, loud, and very physical. He claps me on the shoulder so hard I think my knees are beginning to chip from the weight, and I thank the gods he isn't the sort to ruffle hair.
Aunt Ana, though...she's...
I miss my mother tremendously around her. It's strange, because I don't usually think of her, but seeing Aunt Ana is...almost painful. You can definitely tell they were twins. Her eyes, her smile...everytime I look at her, I have to remind myself that it ISN'T her.
But I'm happy to be around her. She's a sweet woman, even if she and Jack do fight fairly regularly.
On that note, do not judge Jack by how she behaves at school. She's a million times worse at home, and to her own parents! Then again, I've only ever seen her behave around Gran...
Wish I could get away with that. But Jack is Jack, and she gets away with everything, because she IS Jack, and you can't blame her for doing what is in her nature to do. Or something equally as silly.
Uncle Max wants to take me on one of his treasure dives off the coast. Can't wait! Toboe wanted to come, but I figured he'd only get seasick, and it was better for him to guard the house...
...since no one else is home...
...anyway, I heard a crash. I need to come up with an alibi, quick, before Jack tries to pin it on me again.
